It seems safe to infer that the defender also voted "no confidence" in our society's political institutions of law enforcement and justice with his feet.
For now, the authorities are making friendly overture, but it seems unlikely to me that they will tolerate such anonymous action for long. Even *if* fully correct in every respect, governments cannot long abide independent, self organized action on one's own moral authority without submission to their oversight.
"No confidence" is a brilliant way of putting that. The Defender knows damn well that if this guy is caught, and the chances of that are unacceptably low, that even if convicted he or another just like him will be doing the same thing quite soon enough. The Defender not only sent a message to the CJ system that it is not trusted but to others like this armed robber that the risk to their own lives just went went up significantly.
Gun control in America has been a fantastic success from the perspective of government. In the last 100 years, the common man's travel speed has increased from horseback to jet airplanes, while the defensive weapon has progressed only from a handgun to a handgun with three times more shots. The point of gun control is to make tax collection practical.
I've heard of independently-powered tasers which fit in 12 gauge shotgun cartridges, and I don't see a technical reason why they can't be shrunk to fit in handgun cartridges. Those would stop an attacker much faster and more reliably than a bullet.
Yeah. Good fought evil and good won. It would take a heart of stone to not feel something positive here.
Like previous comment, sometimes people get tired of the bullshit and just say NO not today

Sometimes folks intuit these things and conclude the same as reason. Sometimes reason takes longer. Nice job.

The owner should have wiped the table and lost the video.
We're all in this together.
